  • Doesn’t flex like plastic tubes
  • 1/2mm thin wall design provides unmatched precision, feels like the needle is directly connected to your hand
  • Molded cork grip helps absorb vibration and serves as a renewable resource over plastic.
  • Includes a cork shelf off the back end for additional hand support. It serves to bridge the gap between grip and machine, providing comfort & control, keeping the weight more forward with less effort exerted to keep the machine balanced.
  • Shelf is pre-cut for easy removal, should it not sit well on your machine, which occured with some rotaries we tested.
  • Memory foam grips provide unmatched comfort and will not become slippery when wet.
  • We have designed the tubes to err on the larger side of fitting the corresponding grouping as we feel ink flow is paramount.

Grip slip

Posted by Carl W. on May 3rd 2018

Hey guys. First off, i want to say thank you for all your hard work getting black claw to where its at today. Your needles are the best and help me do efficient and good healing tattoos. I have been using your new real steel tubes and like them very much. My machines run at lower volts with no more plastic friction slowing them down. U can't beat the rigidity of the steel tube, the tips have great flow and they are lighter and more comfortable then most others. I have only been tattooing 10 years but I have tried almost every brand of disopible tube. All the shops I have worked at have always required it. Anyhow while using your tubes I was a bit skeptical about how strong the grip was attached to the tube and sure enough they slip very easily. The infamous "grip slip" is a huge problem with most disposables. See, I'm sure many others are exsperiencing this too as we switch from plastic to steel a lot of our machines are having trouble fitting the tube. After many years of tightening the machines vice to a commonly inconsistant and soft plastic tube the vise does not want to open back up to fit a bit larger steel tube witch results to me trying to jam it in there and the grip slips every time. The last thing I wanted to do is use a flat head to spreed the vice open but was nessasary as many of my machine have this problem. I know there are other variable to why some of my machines fit and some don't. Its usually the ones with thicker material around the vice or use a collet. Basically all my Seth machines:cry:. And if I do seem to get it in there, because of the rolled steel the seem in the tube often catches up on the relief in the vise and cause the grip to slip as well. A side from the grip slip I have noticed inconsistency with the liner tips mostly. They are not always round. Lots of them have flat spots on the bottom were the needle rides. I have experienced my needle wondering. Why not just use a diamond tip most prefer? I see that the tube is constructed of flat stock and then stamp cut and pressed and formed into a mold or dye. That could be tightened up or just switch to diamond and it's solved. I deconstructed one of the grips to investigate why they slip only to see that they are just glued on in one spot. I would have to say I was disappointed. Have you guys tried nurruling the tube? Or maybe punching a small tab that lifts up into the glue spot. Anything to attach the tube permanently. I have some ideas I drew out I would love to share with you guys. I know you guys read these because you care about tattooing. I'm not trying to criticize, I'm just would like to give some personal insight to help better our craft. I think if you guys can fix the grip slip and tighten up the mold on the tips or please offer a diamond tip you guy will be true game changers. And then we will stop crying about the cost per quantity. Well, I said enough for now. Thank you for all you guys have done and I will still continue to use real steel. I'm just sayin:wink: . please feel free to call or email me back. I would love help in any way I can. Thanks, Seth and grime ! You guys rock . Carl Womack @ 760-626-7189
